More than just reading ....

motivating, inspiring, simply good light

Library Free University of Berlin

Daylight is our role model

Light played a major role in the modernisation of the formerly ‘quiet reading room’ at the Free University of Berlin, with the glass front allowing the generous use of daylight. STRONG 40 recessed and pendant luminaires are also used. This means that the right light can create a pleasant and motivating atmosphere in every part of the new coworking zone at all times.

The height differences in the ceiling are equalised by the transition from recessed to pendant luminaires and thus the distances between the floor and the edge of the light.

In addition to individual and group workstations, which can be adapted to the students' needs thanks to the movable furniture, there are relaxation areas with lounge furniture, and the seating at the “shop window” is also very popular.

Adjacent are individual workstations for concentrated work and group areas for coaching or exam preparation.

The library has been transformed into a modern space that combines communication, work, creativity and relaxation.
